Cavs Top 3: Darius Garland and Caris LeVert lead Cleveland Cavaliers against the Phoenix Suns
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Cavaliers got much-needed big nights from Darius Garland and Caris LeVert to handle the Phoenix Suns.
Sunday night the seasonal rematch against the Phoenix Suns go exactly the way it needed to go after a much-to-close first three quarters. Still, without Devin Booker, the Suns leaned on second-year player Duane Washington of all people, letting him go 4-5 from three to keep within two points of the Cavs to start the fourth.
Washington would hit just one more three in the fourth, as the Cavs put their foot down and expanded the lead to a game-ending 14 points. Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Caris LeVert combined for eight made shots in the fourth alone to help get the Cavs over the hump and into the win column.
This is despite the Suns shooting over 50% from three in the game. The Cavs made sure their shots counted, even if they hit fewer threes, as Cleveland shot nearly 58% from the floor all night. Garland and LeVert were menaces all night from both sides of the court, while Lamar Stevens, Raul Neto, and Mobley made themselves be felt all night as well.
The Cavs closed the game 112-98 and moved to 26-15 with their next game being on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz.
