2. The Cleveland Guardians will go deep in the playoffs

I fully expect the Cleveland Guardians to end up in the American League Championship Series this season, especially if the free-agent signings pan out. The team had the talent last season to go to the ALCS, but they fumbled the ball so to speak against the New York Yankees, failing to close out the 5 games series after going up 2-1.

A healthier team, with some bigger bats, and maybe one other “name” acquired in a trade, should be all the team needs to get over the hump. They already have two of those elements, now we’re just waiting to see if the front office will bring in one last player to complete the puzzle.

1. Jose Ramirez will finally win the MVP

The Cleveland Guardians will finally be able to give Jose Ramirez the MVP award he certainly deserves. He’s finished in the Top 6 five times, Top 4 four times, Top 3 three times and a runner-up once. Six seasons he’s been in the Top 17. It’s become a bit absurd for Ramirez to constantly be so close but get screwed over by some voters who prefer glamor stats over actual team impact.

If the Guardians are as good as I think they will be, and the new pieces help the squad as I expect them to, then Ramirez will have his best statistical season ever and if he’s healthy, there will be no denying the best player on the best team deserves the biggest award.
