Cavs Top 3: Cleveland Cavaliers down Bulls as the team signs Danny Green
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Cavaliers won their sixth straight and got Danny Green to bolster the roster.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to down the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night, 97-89. They took care of the disappointing Bulls in a tight contest that saw Donovan Mitchell have one of his best games, as he scored, passed, rebounded and defended as well as you could ask anyone to. The Cavs have been dealing with injuries off and on all year but the team will get some much-needed depth help when former Cavs player Danny Green joins the squad.
The added depth of Green on the perimeter will be helpful, but his impact will only be on an as-needed basis. He’ll be a good body to have but the team shouldn’t be taking away minutes from anyone to give to Green. Not unless there’s an injury.
Green will add some much needed defense on the perimeter, but the team’s defense is already pretty strong, especially when you see guys like Jarrett Allen pulling down a double-double nearly every night, and other guys like Evan Mobley progressing and improving each and every week it seems.
Both Allen and Mobley were instrumental in the win against the Bulls. They’re a team that will likely look to sell in the offseason, as they’re getting older, slower, and far from the contender they looked like the prior season.
