The Cleveland Cavaliers have won their 7th in a row behind Donovan Mitchell’s impressive outing.

The Cleveland Cavaliers secured their seventh straight in a row on Monday as they took down the San Antonio Spurs to the tune of 117-109, taking the Cavs to 38-22 on the season. The Cavs are secured in the fourth place spot in the East, are one game back from the Philadelphia 76ers, three games back from the Central-leading Milwaukee Bucks, and 4.5 back of first in the East.

While the Cavs are riding high with their seven-game stretch, the Bucks are on a 10-game stretch of their own. Nearly over two-thirds of the season over at this point, it’s fair to wonder if the Cavs have it in them to take the top spot in the East still. It’s still possible, especially if Donovan Mitchell continues his high-scoring ways. He put up 41 points while shooting over 60% from the floor, and his return to form has really helped the Cavs during the seven-game winning streak.

The team as a whole has not been detoured during the run, blowing out or controlling every game they’ve been in while averaging 115.6 points per game, and only giving up 99.6 points per game on defense.

The defense did its job and handled the Spurs thanks in part to Jarrett Allen and Isaac Okoro. Ricky Rubio also delivered defensively, while continuing to be a pain in the rear for opposing team’s second units.
