The Cleveland Cavaliers pooched a big matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

The Cleveland Cavaliers had their seven-game win streak snapped when they went to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. The Cavs would be down a man as Cedi Osman was out with a neck issue, but Danny Green was properly suited up and saw his first action as a Cavalier. Though he didn’t really impact the game any, as JB Bickerstaff held most of his bench players to little action. Caris LeVert was the only player to break 12 minutes off the bench.

The Cavs got down way early, giving up a 14-point lead to close the first, and a 24-point lead to close halftime. The Cavs did battle back, thanks in part to Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell attacking the paint all game. They were able to trim the lead down with Evan Mobley’s help to eventually fall 118-112. A much more respectable loss but a loss that could’ve been avoided had the team played better defense earlier on.

Yes, they stopped a blowout from happening, and outscored the Sixers 73-55 in the second half of the game, but they still lost because of poor perimeter defensive play, and the Sixers making more free throws than the Cavs.

Bickerstaff’s rotation has been in question all season, and Wednesday night was no different. Down in a hole, the Cavs opted to play everyone but Kevin Love, the one player who could stretch the Sixers’ defense a bit.

By now, everyone knows why he didn’t, but still.
