The Cleveland Guardians have five players in the Top 100

The Cleveland Guardians are a very good team in baseball. That’s not really up for debate. They had the rightful Rookie of the Year in Steven Kwan, a Cy Young candidate in Shane Bieber, a perennial MVP candidate in Jose Ramirez, a slew of Gold Glovers, two shiny new free agents, and the deepest farm system in probably all of baseball.

Yes, the Guardians are good and they rightfully deserve five players, at least, to be in the Top 100 of the league. What is a bit shocking is the order, however. Jose Ramirez has the top billing at No. 8, which is fair. Andres Gimenez is in at No. 47, Emmanuel Clase at No. 53 and Shane Bieber at No. 76.

Bieber is a bit too low, and Clase is a bit too high, but not by so much that it isn’t fair. The one that is shocking, and dare I say, the most accurate, is Steven Kwan at No. 76; ahead of Bieber.

Bieber is arguably one of the 10 best pitchers in all of baseball, regardless of the league or whether or not he’s a starter or bullpen guy. Bieber is that good. Yet, to see Kwan get an even higher spot, really shows just how impressive Kwan was last year, and how little no one was really talking about Kwan prior to the season.

That goes to show you that you shouldn’t believe the hype of a prospect because you never know who is truly going to be great at this game.

Here’s how the Guardians ranked once again;

76. Shane Bieber
66. Steven Kwan
52. Emmanuel Clase
47. Andres Gimenez
8. Jose Ramirez

Who is next in line for the Cleveland Guardians?

If we’re looking at the next names to crack the Top 100, I have four that most stand out. There are of course your future aces in Triston McKenzie and Cal Quantrill. It’s hard to deny them of their eventual ascension, as they’ve only gotten better each season they’ve been on the main roster. Then you have Josh Naylor, who if he can continue to improve at the plate, and on the field, as he continues to overcome his traumatic injury, he may find himself cracking the Top 100 as well.

Then there’s Oscar Gonzalez, who isn’t even close as of yet, but very easily could be on this list in a year or two.
