95. DE/OLB Andrew Van Ginkel

Andrew Van Ginkel isn’t going to make anyone think of Bruce Smith, but he’s someone who can help shore up the run defense with a remade front four for the Cleveland Browns. Save for his rookie year, PFF has graded Van Gingkel at a 70 or higher against the rush in every year he’s been in the league, topping out at a career-best 83.5 in 2022.

Van Ginkel may be a situational defensive end, but he’d be the perfect compliment to the recent Browns signing Ogbonnia “Obo” Okoronkwo. Okoronkwo is more of a pass-rusher, who is still a question mark as to what he can provide for a team. The Browns need more of a sure commodity like Van Ginkel to start, but Okoronkwo is a slightly better pass rusher, with his PFF pass-rushing score sitting at 81.9. Though that’s not a huge sample size for his 2022 season. Van Ginkel played fewer snaps in 2022 than Okoronkwo, but he still posted a 67.9 as a pass rusher according to PFf.

The team needs more production than either one can do on their own, so bringing in Van Ginkel to play with Okoronkwo works. Not only that, but the other man, be it Van Ginkel or Okoronkwo, can also sub out Myles Garrett on select plays where the All-Pro needs a breather.
