What Cleveland Browns free agents remain unsigned and won’t return?

The Cleveland Browns have 13 other former players, who as of midnight on March 17, do not have new homes yet. Those players include Kareem Hunt, Chris Hubbard, Greedy Williams, Jadeveon Clowney, and Anthony Walker Jr.

Here’s the entire list of remaining unsigned free agents from the Browns 2022 campaign;

  • RB Kareem Hunt
  • RB D’Ernest Johnson
  • TE Pharaoh Brown
  • OT Chris Hubbard
  • DE Jadeveon Clowney
  • LB Jermaine Carter Jr.
  • LB Deion Jones
  • LB Jordan Kunaszyk
  • LB Reggie Ragland
  • LB Anthony Walker Jr.
  • CB Greedy Williams
  • S Ronnie Harrison
  • S John Johnson

Of those names, some of them aren’t coming back no matter what. Namely Clowney, John Johnson III, and either Hunt or D’Ernest Johnson.

Clowney and the team had a major falling out at the end of the 2022 season and the team “released” Clowney, despite his contract has expired. It had to do with his “voidable years”. Johnson was also released by the team, despite having money and time left on his deal. So he won’t be back either.

Johnson and Hunt will likely not return to the team if the other returns, simply due to roster spaces and reps expected.

The other player that I’d be surprised to return to the team is Ronnie Harrison. He was a terrible player and made more headlines for his behavior than his on-field play.
