The Cleveland Browns signed three free-agent defensive tackles this offseason, and have three more on the roster. At this point in the draft, the Browns will have seven already. Is that a lot? Sure, but are they all going to make the team? No. It’s fair to say the two veterans the Browns signed, Maurice Hurst and Trysten Hill aren’t locks to make the team. It’s also fair to say that Jordan Elliot, Tommy Togiai, and Perrion Winfrey are fighting for their careers.

All three of the drafted tackles that are on the team so far are the definition of “bad”. The Browns need to bolster this position, and landing three veterans, two of which aren’t great, isn’t giving anyone a lot of hope for this front four. Especially since Hill played very limitedly in 2022 and Hurst didn’t play at all.

Kobie Turner is another player, like Moro Ojomo, who is great against the run. PFF was very high on him too, giving him an 88.8 grade as a pass rusher and a 93. 1 grade against the run. Turner has had three elite-level years of production at Vanderbilt, posting a 90.8 overall in 2020, and 88.1 in 2021, and a career-high 92.2 in 2022.

He’s the type of player that the Browns should be gunning for, regardless of past moves in free agency or the draft.
