The Browns need depth at the line, no matter where it is. Right now the team has a few centers in Ethan Pocic, the starter, Nick Harris, and Dawson Deaton. Deaton is at guard according to the Browns at the moment, but he was drafted as a center. The future of the center position is in the air some, as Nick Harris likely won’t be re-signed, and Pocic’s contract isn’t that long. They also lost Hjalte Froholdt, so the Browns would be wise to get some more interior line help.

At this point in the draft, you’re looking for projects. Guys you could eventually put on the practice squad, and maybe develop over a few years. Jake Andrews is one of those guys. NFL Draft Buzz describes him as an interior mauler, with his run-blocking being his best skillset. PFF gave him a 77.1 for that, but only a 56.5 for his pass-blocking skills. In a better system, those numbers may be way higher. He doesn’t have any negatives, according to NFL Draft Buzz, that isn’t technique base.

Draft Network has him at a “fourth-round value” so if he’s still on board in Round 6, the Cleveland Browns have to jump on him.
