The Cleveland Cavaliers are back in the win column in their quest for 50 wins.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had two back-to-back games that played out rather similarly, but with different results. The Cavs lost their first outing to the Knicks and won their next outing against the Pacers thanks to the fourth quarter. Both games were wildly close and the 4th quarter of action determined the results for both games.

That wasn’t the only thing both games had in common, as Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley both showed up huge over the last few games. This was needed, as guys like Jalen Brunson tested the Cavs’ defense mightly.

The Cavs lost to the Knicks 130 to 116, as Mitchell and Brunson posted 40-point games against one another. The Knicks had a three-point lead in the 4th quarter and out-scored the Cavs 25-14 as Cleveland fell apart.

The Pacers fell to the Cavs in the Cavaliers’ next game, 115-105, in a very similar manner to how New York beat Cleveland. With both teams keeping things close heading into the final quarter of action, the Cavs were able to out-pace the Pacers by 11, with Cleveland outscoring Indiana  29-18. That final frame of action, coupled with Mobley and Mitchell’s big outings, got the Cavs out of the losing column.

The Cavs are now 49-30 and have a shot at 50 wins. They have three more games to play, two against Orlando in back-to-back games in Orlando and one more against Charlotte at home. Orlando is still fighting for a play-in bid, so don’t expect the Magic to go away easily.
