INDIANAPOLIS, IN – SEPTEMBER 24: Kenny Britt /

Kenny Britt

Kenny Britt came to Cleveland in 2017 as the new ace of the receivers. Coming off of a 1,000-yard season in St. Louis with the Rams, and being just 29 years old, everyone thought this was a huge move for the Browns. It’s why the team signed him to a four-year, $32.5 million contract.

Now, to be fair, Britt came in and had to deal with DeShone Kizer as his quarterback, not great. But Britt didn’t even make it the entire year. Fair criticism to Kizer aside, Britt wasn’t great. He played in nine games for the Browns and was so ineffective at times, was actually demoted to a backup receiver. He amassed just 233 yards in his nine games with the Browns and just two measly little touchdowns.

Britt requested his release, but that may not have been why he got it, his performance may have had something to do with that. You’d think it was just Kizer, right? Well, he went to the New England Patriots, circa Tom Brady, and just caught two more passes in his entire career.

Clearly, he wasn’t what his agent told the team he was. He would get cut by the Patriots in the 2018 preseason and he’d never play in the NFL again.
