Dwayne Bowe

Good thing these are in no particular order or yikes. We’d have a strong debate over who’d be number one, Kenny Britt or Dwayne Bowe. Bowe was a solid receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, going to a Pro Bowl in 2010 in Todd Haley’s revamped offense, which also saw Matt Cassel go to the Pro Bowl as well.

Being that many people thought Bowe was “that guy”, the Chiefs would eventually sign him to a five-year contract in 2013, worth $56 million. It made Bowe the third-highest-paid receiver in league history at the time.

Did he deserve it? No. He went from 1,162 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2010, to 1,159 yards, and five touchdowns in 2011, and saw his yards-per-reception drop from 16.1 to 14.3. In 2012, the year before his big deal, he had just 801 yards with just three touchdowns and a YPR of just 13.6.

2012 saw him at  673 yards and five touchdowns and a YPR of 11.8. For some reason, after yet another down year in 2015, the Browns just had to get them some of Bowe and signed him to a two-year deal for $13 million, $9 of which was guaranteed.

He played just seven games, caught just five passes, and was constantly being deactivated due to his poor performances. He was released in March of the following year.
