Cleveland Guardians’ offense falls apart against the Detroit Tigers
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Guardians lost an early must-win series against the Detroit Tigers
The Cleveland Guardians did not have a nice outing against the Detroit Tigers. They were supposed to play three games in three days, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but the game on Monday got rained out. So Tuesday became a doubleheader.
Things were looking good, despite Hunter Gaddis giving up three-runs. Despite giving up 12 hits in the first seven innings, the late innings looked good for the good guys until James Karinchak gave up a walk-off to Kerry Carpenter, who had a two-RBI game.
The second part of the doubleheader saw Peyton Battenfield give up just three hits and one earned run but the Guardians’ offense went ice-cold as the whole team has seemingly hit a slump in recent days. It doesn’t help that Tyler Freeman and Amed Rosario are dealing with injuries.
The Guards did bounce back in the series’ final game, thanks to Jose Ramirez dragging the club to a win, but the team scored just six runs in three games against the Tigers. That’s not a good thing for this team.

Game Recaps
Josh Bell and Oscar Gonzalez have struggled all season but both of the team’s big bobbers were able to deliver. If only James Karinchak didn’t pooch the game in the end.
The Cleveland Guardians only achieved four hits in the game against the Tigers, which was a shame as the Guardians did great against the Tigers’ offense.
Cal Quantrill continues to return to form, while Jose Ramirez carried the offense to a win, and kept the Guardians above .500.
