The Cleveland Browns aren’t done trying out rookies just yet.

The Cleveland Browns are not done by any means with adding rookie talent. This brings their expected total to 21 rookies for the upcoming set of off-season workouts and camps planned. The Browns drafted seven in April’s 2023 NFL Draft and then finalized another nine signings this past week.

Now, the Browns have brought in an additional six new players, but these aren’t the same as the undrafted free agent signings, as these five new players are not officially under contract but are merely being brought in to try out for the squad.

A sixth, non-rookie joined the group, with former second-round draftee CB Quincy Wilson, who has been anything but reliable since entering the league in 2017.

Here are the rookies who are in Berea currently and how they arrived.

Keep an eye out for Ryan Greenhagen and Kris Thornton

No one from the tryouts should be considered for the 53-man roster, but two of them really impress me as project guys. Ryan Greenhagen is a 4-3/3-4 defensive end/outside linebacker type, who can get after the quarterback. He’s extremely strong, ranking in the 96% for all linebackers in the history of the combine according to NFL Draft Buzz.

Meanwhile, Kris Thornton is the one thing all NFL teams want in receivers, a blazing speedster with sub 4.40 speed in the 40-yard dash. Both guys have raw athletic possibilities that they would be wise to see grow and develop on the practice squad.
