The Cleveland Guardians are in some serious trouble

The Cleveland Guardians are struggling this year. That is not in dispute, but what is in dispute is the conversation about how serious things are. I, for one, am not at all worried as Terry Francona led ballclubs usually turn things around starting in mid-to-late June. Like clockwork, really. I don’t doubt the same thing will happen this season, but those turnarounds usually come with some sort of mid-season correction.

Usually, guys get traded, demoted, promoted, signed, or released. Something major usually happens. It isn’t just something that happens when the calendar turns to June 1. The reason for this is pretty obvious, Terry Francona is an old-school baseball manager and likes to give his guys time to work out their issues. This can take time, as players can turn things around, yet, usually, after two months, you know what the guy is at this point.

That’s a long-winded way of saying that things can still change at this point for some guys. Yet, unfortunately, there is only so much time you can give someone and for the folks on this list, it’s almost too painfully clear what you’re going to be getting from them.

Now, not everyone on this list needs to go, but some may be dealt with simply because their value will only decrease from here, and none of the guys talked about here are really providing much of an impact for the team.

So let’s talk about a group of guys who have shown us what they can provide this year.
