Ohio State: Should Cardale Have Entered The ’15 NFL Draft?
By Ryan Rosko
Coming into the 2015 football season, many people believed that the Ohio State Buckeyes could not lose with their decision at QB. The team went with QB Cardale Jones. However, given his success last season, should he have entered the 2015 NFL Draft instead?
The Ohio State Buckeyes are undefeated through five weeks. However, the Ohio State football team cannot be okay with how their season has progressed so far on an individual level. That should be especially be true for QB Cardale Jones.
Jones has yet to lose a game in his career, but without QB J.T. Barrett his career would not be existing. After replacing Barrett last season, Jones took the reigns as the starting QB for the team and the end result was a national championship.

Leaving school early for the draft would have made sense too. Prior to this season, the three games he started in 2014 were the only other games Jones ended up starting in college. The decision to pass on the NFL looks to be a bad choice because of how he has played so far in 2015.
The only game Jones played in without at least being temporarily replaced by Barrett, was last week against Indiana University. Through five games Jones has completed 59% of his passes. He has thrown for 866 yards with 5 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Should he have entered the draft earlier this year, he would have been an option to be the third or fourth selected QB Now? That is anybody’s guess but his stock is for down.
Earlier this season their was a social media pitch among fans called #FailForCardale since he was expected to be a first round pick. He is not a first or second round pick. His best bet in the draft is third round if his progress does not improve.
Ohio State football fans and I know their program expects to play at a high level year-long accumulating many wins. The wins sure do not look to be questioned going forward, but the level of play is starting to look questionable. I am surprised Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer has not looked to changing his mind for good and change his QB to Barrett.
If that were to happen, the change should happen soon.
The Buckeyes needs to be careful because if the games continue like the previous five weeks, then OSU will not have a chance to repeat as champions.
Yes, Jones should have left early. Now the personnel of NFL teams can get a better idea on the Buckeyes QB when they scout and evaluate him. If he does not improve fast, his NFL Draft stock will have a hard time rebounding from the hit it has received.
