Cleveland Browns: World Is Laughing At Us, Not With Us
It’s Time To Get It Right
All Siri jokes aside, the message is clear. To Haslam, DePodesta, Brown, Berry, and Jackson, it’s beyond time to get this thing right. As Cleveland Browns fans, we’re tired of the abuse. After the Manziel drama, the third different regime in four years, the blown drafts, and the disappointing play on Sundays, it’s time to get the ship right.

How can they do this?
Well, how about what the Cleveland Browns have done so far. The one move that almost everyone seems to agree upon is that hiring Jackson as head coach was the right move. Pat McManamon of ESPN wrote back in January that hiring Jackson was a “NOT so Browns” kind of move. Haslam didn’t have to settle for his sixth choice like he did with Mike Pettine– he got his guy.
Jackson is a well-respected and tough coach, who is also someone that wants to be a part of this weird new front office set-up. They also made bold moves in reconstructing their front office. While this new analytical approach isn’t the norm in the NFL, nor the typical structure of power, it’s something different.
Despite the criticism, the Cleveland Browns needed to do something different. Trying to model the franchise after the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, or any other front office hasn’t worked, because it’s what works for them. This new analytical approach could be what works for the Browns, and maybe someday NFL teams will model their front offices after theirs.
