Depends On The Level Of Desperation

Ric McElroy

Cleveland should not should trade Gordon, but I can understand if they are afraid he will slip again with alcohol or drugs again. If that is the case, then maybe the Browns should see what they can get for him.

Gordon has talked before, just as Johnny Manziel did, about changing his life around. Gordon mentioned he would be on the straight and narrow path  and would not revert to his former self, which had started at Baylor University.

More from Cleveland Browns

Unfortunately he couldn’t keep the promise, there or in Cleveland! You must ask yourself, how many times can this person make a statement and then fall back to his old practices?

As far as what the Cleveland Browns could receive for him in a trade, it depends on how desperate the team that wants him is. In a perfect world Cleveland should hold out for a second round pick.

Still, any team will tell you they could be left high and dry by him as he’s done to the Browns. No team in their right mind will offer the Browns what they have in him.

Let’s face it, Gordon is damaged goods. So on the good end of a deal, Cleveland might get anything from a fourth round pick to a seventh rounder.
As I said however, is he worth more to the Browns than he’ll bring back? If Gordon is telling the truth, he could be way more valuable than a sixth or seventh round pick! He has amazing talent and physical gifts.
