The Voice of the Fan was not happy to see the Cleveland Browns’ inability to limit the opposing team’s running game in addition to not progressing with their play calls.
A cold day with a few flurries mixed in Buffalo, New York at this time of year is something that you would expect. The weather was one reason, but there were others why both the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills failed in the red zone and instead exchanged field goals early on.
As the game progressed, the Browns continued to be penalized at the most inopportune times and there was no shortage. There was also no shortage on missed assignments and badly missed passes; Not to mention the complete lack of a run defense.
Cleveland’s defensive line could not get off their blocks or put any pressure on Buffalo QB Tyrod Taylor. The Bills scored a touchdown on the last play of the first quarter on a run by RB Mike Gillislee. They drove down the field without much resistance by the bad defense of the Browns.

Over the course of the game, replay showed distinctly that the referees blew two bad calls against the Browns. Replay needs to be extended to cover more allowable plays as the refs are becoming more and more ineffective and less consistent in making the correct calls.
How can you have a third and 23 and get a first down? Ask the lackluster Browns defense and defensive coordinator Ray Horton! Having that achieved was ridiculous with three Browns standing around.
Buffalo tight end Charles Clay was wide open in the end zone from 19 yards out. Meanwhile, Browns players were looking at each other trying to figure out which one screwed up! Guess what, the whole defense was the one at fault, that’s who!
Today was the 14th game of the season and yet Cleveland is still making the same stupid mistakes! Is it the coaching or the lack of talent on this team? At halftime, Buffalo led 17-3. Even the play-calling in the last minute of the half left plenty of questions.
After holding the Bills on the first series in the second half, the Browns somehow scored on a 19 yard run by QB Robert Griffin III. Last week was the first time the Browns out scored an opponent in the second half this year.
Due to the Browns’ countless mistakes, the Bills went right back down the field. RB LeSean McCoy finished the drive, scoring on a short run. His touchdown extended the lead to 24-10.

Once again Cleveland could not score a touchdown from inside their red zone. Instead, they settled for another field goal. Cleveland’s receivers could not separate again going up against man coverage! This afternoon both WRs Corey Coleman and Terrelle Pryor were non-factors.
Today was the McCoy show as he could not be stopped. He scored his second touchdown of the game late, but Buffalo missed their extra point resulting in a 30-13 lead. The scoring wasn’t done though as Buffalo added another field increasing the lead to 33-13, which turned out to be the final.
The Browns’ defense did hold the second string Bills out of the end zone on forth and goal at the one. That was one only a few positive highlights on the day.

More bad play-calling with time running out continued to happen. Short passes and no passes down the field were also evident. Mercifully the game ends! Note to Browns head coach Hue Jackson: Griffin didn’t look any better this week from last week or even Week one! He’s not the answer.
