The Cleveland Cavaliers made it official, signing free-agent guard Dwyane Wade to a one-year, $2.3 million contract.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wayne have reunited, with Wade coming to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2017-2018 campaign.

Wade’s addition is another huge signing in the transformation that was the Cavaliers roster.

The Cavaliers started off on the wrong foot after finding out about Kyrie Irving‘s trade request

Things got better for Cavs though after a blockbuster trade with the Celtics.

Who, after last season, could’ve predicted Irving would be in Boston, and Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade and Isaiah Thomas would be wearing the Wine and Gold?

Wade spent last season with the Chicago Bulls having a decent season. He quickly found himself as the only true star left on the team after Jimmy Butler was traded.

Wade worked with the Bulls for several weeks about a possible contract buyout. When the buyout became official a few teams jumped at the chance to sign him,  including the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, and of course the Cavs.

Fans didn’t wait long for the three-time champion to pick Cleveland, shortly after he cleared waivers.

The deal go done Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. Twenty-four  hours later, Wade was with team during his first practice. He is expected to start for the team when the season starts.

Best Friends

LeBron was one of the first to show his excitement for the trade featuring Wade. He reacted by saying “Its that feeling of when you walk into school on the first day ad see your best friend is in your class.” James and Wade have been good friends for quite sometime now. The two exploded on the court together in Miami, winning two championships. The Cavs are hoping to reignite that flame again in Cleveland.

Wade had an average season last year, but wasn’t surrounded by championship caliber players. He averaged 18.3 points per game and shot 43,4 percent from the field. His ability to shoot from the elbow and explode down the court is like no other and he still possesses great athleticism.

Cavs fans are worried about his age being a factor, but he’s has shown no signs of slowing down and style of offense is still no match for defenses.

The Cavs not only picked up a great guard, they picked up an All-Star caliber player.

The chemistry between James and Wade will help fuel the team. Wade’s veteran status will also help to fuel the rookies on the team as well. All in all the trade could only help the Cavs be one step closer to a championship.
