The Cleveland Browns rushed past the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday behind a whopping 300 yards rushing, as the Browns win 49-38.

The Cleveland Browns dominated the Dallas Cowboys defense all game by rushing for 307 yards. All that without leading running back Nick Chubb, who went down in the second quarter with an apparent knee injury. Third-string running back D’Ernest Johnson rushed for 95 yards and led the game in rushing.

Kareem Hunt posted another 71 yards rushing while adding two touchdowns. Nick Chubb, before his injury, added 43 yards rushing on the day, while Dontrell Hillard and Baker Mayfield added 19 yards and six yards on the day as well.

The surprise of the day was Odell Beckham Jr., who had 73 yards rushing on two carries, and one touchdown. The second run came in the 4th quarter when the Browns were clinging onto a three-point lead. The Browns dialed up an ill-advised gadget play that nearly ended up with a 20-yard loss, but thanks to Aldon Smith being a terrible tackler, Beckham was able to break a big run for a touchdown.

The zone-blocking the team showed throughout the game was a byproduct of offensive line coach Bill Callahan’s blocking scheme. His zone-blocking formation and assignments have turned Wyatt Teller into a Pro Bowl-caliber player and have minimized Jedrick Wills’ issues as he gets accustomed to the pro game. He was given strong praise during the broadcast as they noted that Dallas and Washington had their best rushing games with him as a coach.

The rushing game wasn’t the only thing that worked well, as Baker Mayfield completed 63% of his passes and threw two touchdowns to Beckham. The team had 508 yards total in the game and needed every yard they could muster.

While the team won, the Browns play-calling fell apart in the second half of the game and was more lucky than good especially in the 4th quarter. The Cowboys join the Bengals and Washington as some of the worst teams in the league and the Browns won’t be able to get away with plays like that later in the year.
