The Browns and Baker Mayfield has a career game in a dynamic and exciting 37-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7.

Baker Mayfield answered back. After a rough first quarter that saw Mayfield go 0-5 with an interception, the Browns quarterback would not miss a throw for the rest of the game, going 22-22, with 297 yards and a whopping five touchdowns as the Browns come from behind to beat the Bengals 37-34.

It should be noted that Mayfield technically broke the franchise record of completed passes at 21, not 22, as Mayfield had to spike the ball in the waning seconds of the 4th quarter, which officially counts as an incompletion.

A lot of the success came from Mayfield working out of the shotgun and utilizing his accuracy over his big throws, throwing more quick passes to his open receivers.

Mayfield’s three perfect quarters weren’t just him dinking and dunking passes, though as several times he took big shots downfield and his wide receivers were there to make plays. One of whom, Odell Beckham Jr. left the game with an injury in the first quarter. Almost the next offensive play, Mayfield started his roll.

Mayfield didn’t just have a career day in completion, but also in touchdowns, throwing five of them as a new career-high for him as well. Mayfield’s best, moments, however, was late in the game. In two separate drives  in the final three minutes, where the Browns trailed both times, Mayfield marched the team down the field and finished both drives with amazing touchdown passes. With the biggest coming in the last few seconds, as Mayfield lined a bullet straight to Donovan Peoples-Jones in the most perfect spot imaginable.

His two late-game drives, both of which could have or did seal the game, is pretty solid proof you can rely on Mayfield for late-game heroics.

While Kareem Hunt did play better than in past games -especially up the middle,  he still didn’t play great today, leaving a bulk of the workload in the hands of Mayfield. Hunt only rushed for 76 yards on 18 carries but did have three receptions for 26 yards receiving and a touchdown to go along with his rushing numbers.

Rashard Higgins and Harrison Bryant were the leading receivers for the team, with Bryant catching another two touchdowns for the year, giving the rookie tight end three on the season.
