The saga of Odell Beckham Jr. being on the Browns is long and rather obnoxious. There’s constantly rumors of him being unhappy, full committed, being traded, or being a prime focus of the team going forward. There isn’t one narrative that fits Beckham’s tenture with the Browns, other than disappointing. Far from the player he once was, the only value Beckham still has that’s tangiable and not assumed is that he could fetch a pretty penny if a team was desperate for a receiver to help them out.

He hasn’t been healthy since two Presidents ago, and when he does play, is clearly lacking the same athleticism he once had. Beckham is also one of the least consistent “elite” pass catchers the game has seen, routinely topping the list for drops in a season (or being near the top). Despite all that, however, teams still want him.

Enter May Kay Cabot (via The Spun), who has her eyes and ears all over the Browns facility in Berea. She’s someone who only gives her opinion on something if it’s been backed by a source or few. So her opinions are pretty well educated.

"If someone did come and make an offer to the Browns for Odell, I still think that they would listen to it. I don’t think the Browns are 100 percent locked in to having to have OBJ on the team this year."

She’s not just giving her opinion, she’s telling you what she’s hearing through her opinion. The Browns aren’t 100% on board with Beckham and there’s a lot of reasons why they shouldn’t be. Yet, here are just four.

  1. Have proven the Browns don’t need him to win.
  2. Recurring injury issues don’t go away with age.
  3. History of troubling behavior that could affect chemistry.
  4. Contract.

You really don’t need any more reasons than that to move on from Beckham. Take a third-rounder for him and start investing that money elsewhere on the team.
