It’s weird when the Browns pick this low. Sure there’s debate about what the franchise should do with the 26th overall pick.

The Browns need linebackers, but they really don’t need linebackers. Cleveland’s actually been pretty productive in that department over the course of the offseason.

Andrew Berry signed Colts veteran Anthony Parker, while bringing back Malcom Smith on a one-year contract. Additionally, home-grown linebackers Mack Wilson, Sione Takitaki and Jacob Phillips return with more NFL snaps under their belts.

Locally, it continues to be reported that the Browns are very high on Phillps, who was taken in the third round of last year’s draft. This isn’t to make the LSU product into Brian Urlacher, but when Phillips is on the field, you notice his speed and getting faster seems to be the theme of the offseason for this defense.

The additions at linebacker, in addition to the players already on the roster probably mean Cleveland will pass on taking one in the first round. Never say never, but it just look to add up, unless they believe Zaven Collins is capable of lining up as a 4-3 end.

Assuming they pass on Collins and Kentucky Jamin Davis, here’s four linebackers the Browns should target during the draft’s third and final day.
