Browns should consider replacing these starters ahead of the Ravens rematch.

The Browns have some clear and obvious holes on the team. Most notably at the tackle positions, on both sides of the ball. As well as at safety and receiver. Guys may be good or have been good in the past but their performance and/or mentalities may be causing some significant problems on this team.

Replacing them in the starting lineup may make things better, or may make things worse. That’s hard to say at the moment but it’s not about doing something to necessarily make things better, but about doing something different. We don’t know if these moves will work, we do know that the players in these positions right now currently don’t work.

We have to try something different, we have to see if the players and prospects this team has, that so many fans raved about over the last two years can actually step up, that or getting a guy off the practice squad to play major minutes.

Now some of you will want to point out that Baker Mayfield should be on this list. I disagree. I think Mayfield is better than Case Keenum, healthy or injured. Now, some of you will be flabbergasted that I think that; that’s fine. Keenum has a history of poor play. He’s been run out of every team he’s ever been on for a reason.

Now you can disagree with me, that’s fine. I firmly believe the team cannot win with Keenum at the helm. He barely beat the Broncos and if not for a once-in-a-lifetime game from D’Ernest Johnson, he wouldn’t have.

Yes, I believe Keenum is overpaid, yes I think signing him was a mistake and yes, by the sheer fact the Browns won’t put Mayfield on the IR to heal means the Browns think so too. So don’t expect Keenum to be on this list.

Before we dive in, I just want to point out that yes, there is another article on here about what free agents the team should sign to help bolster this squad for next week. Just imagine this as the “what if?'” portion should Cleveland not sign anyone new.
