Bradley Beal and the rest of the league better start respecting the Cavs

Bradley Beal and the NBA should fear the Cavs.

Bradley Beal apparently doesn’t respect the Cavs, despite the fact this is looking like anything but a fluke start to the season. Unlike last season. This team is far better than last year’s team, mostly due to three key free-agent acquisitions. This team is now 13-10, ninth in the league in point differential, and nine of their 10 most used players this season are a plus in offense, defense, or both according to their RAPTOR score.

Every player, save for Collin Sexton, makes the Cavaliers better at least on one side of the line. This has irked Beal, who alluded to the Cavs as being, well, not very good.

Beal was very candid after the Cavs blew out the Wizards on Friday, saying;

"I think a lot our wins earlier in the year were kind of, we know we can’t win like that against good times. We have these crappy teams who, granted they have good size and they play to their advantage, we can’t just flip on that light switch. I think that was another situation like tonight."

Crappy teams? Well, mister Beal, it should be noted that if there has been one team that owned another over the last 15 years in the playoffs, it would be the Cavs owning the Wizards.

Beal and Kyle Kuzma can mock and disrespect the Cavs all they want, but at the end of the day, this is looking more and more like the real team. A team that can compete with anyone on any given day, and that should concern every team in the league.

Keep in mind how close the Cavs played the Nets, Warriors, and Suns this season while missing key contributors. This team has the ability to get the wins. More than that, this team, when fully healthy, is 10 deep on the bench.

The depth on this squad is unlike anything in the league currently. The team could legitimately start its five best reserves and still put up a fight. When Dean Wade and Cedi Osman get healthy, with how good Wade has been defensively and Osman’s shot finally back to form, this team could be a serious monster to deal with.

This team is so complete when healthy, I’m begging Koby Altman to just roll with this unit. They have amazing chemistry and can beat you any way they want.

When the Wizards and Cavs meet again, someone will be eating their words.

Update: Beal posted on Twitter “‘Scrappy’ not crappy”, alluding to what was floating around the internet. He did not clarify if he misspoke or was misrepresented; leading me to believe he “misspoke”.
