3 good things from the Browns loss to the Packers
By Chad Porto
The Offensive line
The Browns’ offensive line finally looked good. Maybe that’s more an indictment against the Packers’ front seven than it is a compliment to the Browns offensive line but outside of a few mistakes and a couple blew pass protections that resulted in back-breaking sacks, the line did its job.
Nick Harris did a fine job blocking, especially with it being his first start at center and how badly he looked last year as a rookie. Harris may have stepped forward nicely but I’d like to see more from him before decreeing him the long-term replacement option for J.C. Tretter.
Blake Hance looked good at tackle, maybe a sign that the Packers’ defense wasn’t up to snuff after all. The Browns seem to have a real option in Michael Dunn, who continually looks good no matter when his number is called.
Joel Bitnio is also making a case to be the team’s permanent option at left tackle, as he’s far and away a better option over Jedrick Wills. I’m still baffled that Wills somehow got selected to be a Pro Bowl alternate, but hey, congrats to him.
Overall the Browns offensive line looked fantastic and that’s something to celebrate.
