Considering how all over the place the Browns special teams have been since 2018, it’s a bit baffling to see that they took a kicker in 2019 and that he only lasted a season-plus. He was replaced by Cody Parkey in 2020, who had a really good year. Parky was then replaced by Chase McLaughlin in 2021, who was anything but good. 2022 will likely see yet another kicker come in, which brings up the question; why did the team give up on Seibert so fast?

He’s largely been a very accurate kicker, save for a 2020 that didn’t see him kick that often. After the Browns moved on from him in 2020 and released him outright, he ended up going to Cinncinati, where he was fine for the Bengals.

In 2021, he ended up in Detroit as a member of the Lions and was kicking at an 83% accuracy clip before he got shut down for the year with a hip injury. The Lions would be wise to keep him, considering how hard it is to find a kicker this acceptable. The Browns will spend yet another off-season looking for a position that was once so stable.
