Cavs Top 3: Darius Garland and Kevin Love can’t fend off Trae Young
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers had big games from Darius Garland and Kevin Love, but their combined 51 points weren’t enough to clip the wings of the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young led the way with 41 points of his own. No combination of Cavs players slowed him down, not even Isaac Okoro.
Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen struggled to keep the paint cleared, and Caris LeVert floundered again from the field, shooting just 4-12, and 1-6 from three. It was a disastrous loss to the Hawks simply due to the fact the Cavs failed to play suffocating defense. Their bread and butter.
The final ended up being 124-116, and the Cavs fell to 35-23 on the season. Luckily the team seemed exhausted, and nothing is better for weary legs than some nice, and well-earned, rest and relaxation. The All-Star Game now takes center stage, as the Cavs don’t play again until Feb. 24.

Cavs Top 3
- Jarrett Allen
- Kevin Love
- Darius Garland
Jarrett Allen gets the first point of the night. He only had 14 points and seven rebounds, which isn’t impressive but considering how much damage the Hawks did against Rajon Rondo and Mobley, the fact that Allen had a BPM of just 0 is a miracle.
The two-pointer of the game goes to Kevin Love, who shot 41% from the floor, and had 21 points and seven rebounds.
The top guy of the night and the winner of the three-point performance goes to Darius Garland, who had 30 points, on a whopping 54% shooting.
