Cavs Top 3: Cedi Osman returns to the lineup in a big way
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Cavaliers saw Cedi Osman unleashed against the Pistons.
Put away the milk cartons folks, because we found Cedi Osman. Osman reappeared after searching the Mojave for missing treasures, or was he in the Upside Down? Regardless of where he’s been the last few games, the outcomes were the same; he was missing and the team wasn’t as effective without him.
The team has tried to facilitate better defensive sets without Jarrett Allen manning the center position, Evan Mobley has replaced Allen with ease, but no one has been able to replace Mobley and his perimeter play. The team has seemingly tried Dylan Windler at the spot but his lack of offense has derailed any use for him going forward. So that meant Osman was back in the lineup, as he could at least facilitate the offense.
The Cavs were able to secure the win over the Pistons on Saturday with a score of 113-109 and had an impressive run to close out the third and start the fourth that saw the Cavs put some serious distance between the clubs. The Cavs improved to 41-30 and have secured their first non-losing season without LeBron James since 1998.
Cavs Top 3:
- Kevin Love
- Darius Garland
- Cedi Osman
The bench was key in the comeback win, and Kevin Love helped spark that. He shot just 5-7 but made every shot count, going 3-5 from three-point and finishing the night scoring 14 points. That wasn’t all though, as he had 10 rebounds and two assists. Love’s contributions really picked up in the second-half, scoring nine of his 14 points in the third quarter. That gets him the one-pointer for the game.
Darius Garand gets your two-pointers, who had 24 points and 12 assists. Garland’s been having a bit of a rough month shooting from the floor, compared to his season as a whole, but his free throw shooting has been spot on.
Yet, the three-pointer goes to the missing Cedi Osman, who came crashing through the milk carton for 16 points on 7-12 shooting, with five rebounds and two assists. The performance of the forward was greatly needed, as he had nine points in the fourth quarter and 11 in the second half as a whole.
