Rashard Higgins (signed with Panthers)

Ironic that the Cleveland Browns’ third receiver last year, Rashard Higgins, ended up with the Carolina Panthers, seeing as that’s the place Baker Mayfield may end up landing this year. The two were very tight for a while, but it looks like that friendship has been impacted some.

Right now Higgins is going to be catching passes from Sam Darnold and that may just be the worst thing for Higgins. Higgins is a solid slot guy and has shown the ability to have good hands, which makes him a quarterback’s best friend (ironically). Yet, Darnold is inconsistent and the hope is that the Panthers move to replace him this season.

If Darnold can’t help Higgins out there are other ways Higgins can contribute. He’s a good blocker for a guy his size, a solid route-runner, and someone that the team can expect to see some night highlights from. Even if it’s on special teams.

Should Higgins have Darnold all season, he’ll have a few good moments but he’ll largely struggle to get any real production going. Still, if he can bring half of what he brought to Cleveland to Carolina, then the Panther faithful may find out why the Browns fandom called him Hollywood.
