DE Carl Nassib

The “bring more pass-rush help” to Cleveland march continues. We’re moving back outside for Carl Nassib, a player who fans may not realize is available and could be a really interesting addition to the team in 2022. The Browns have three very reliable ends right now in Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, and Chase Winovich.

I don’t see guys like Stephen Weatherly or Curtis Weaver making any noise, let alone the team. The Browns could use some upgrades at the end positions behind their starters and Nassib, even if just on a one-year flyer, would be a huge upgrade.

He’s not a 20-sack-a-season guy, but I believe with the right talent around him, Nassib can get you five to nine sacks a year as a specialist. The thing is, he isn’t just a solid option to improve the pass-rushing depth from the backup end spots either. He’s someone who has shown to be able to seal the edge against the rush.

That’s something Porter Gustin did well, but he’s in Miami now, which is why Nassib is an interesting item to bring up. The Browns had some interest early in free agency and they still might. If the Browns opt to bring him in, then the team will have some serious depth at the position.
