The Cleveland Browns still have interest in free agent Ndamukong Suh.

It’s been months since the preseason started and potential Hall of Famer Ndamukong Suh is still a free agent. A free agent the Cleveland Browns have had an interest in for months now. Dating back to before the NFL Draft, the Browns have had a lingering interest in Suh.

Many believed that Suh would end up back in Tampa Bay, especially since Tom Brady returned to the Buccaneers. The window for them to win is still open and Suh would be in a good situation to try and get back to the Super Bowl. Yet, he remains unsigned.

The Browns have had an interest in him for a while, but for one reason or another, he remains unsigned. It seems as though that interest is still there and considering how bad the defensive tackles look on paper heading into training camp, it’s very possible that the team does end up signing him.

Which they absolutely should.

Signing Ndamukong Suh makes sense even if the team is skewing younger

Even though Suh might be the dirtiest player in the NFL since Bill Romanowski, the team could use his talents even at his advanced age. He’s still a starting caliber defensive tackle and could improve the team’s front-four instantly, assuming his body is holding up.

The Browns have youthful depth at the position but the team but most of those players are walking question marks. There’s no way to know for sure what those players can bring to the table. Some of those guys, like Tommy Togiai, may very well end up being a waste of a pick, and if that’s the case, then the team needs to have veterans who can balance out the roster and help make up for the youthful player’s inconsistencies.

Suh’s not a long-term option but he’s a viable option for the immediacy.
