Jarrett Allen teasing Kevin Love is a sign the Cleveland Cavaliers chemistry is second to none

Jarrett Allen and Kevin Love’s bond is just another sign the Cleveland Cavaliers have chemistry second to none.
Jarrett Allen and Kevin Love both as aspirations this year. Allen is hoping that with Rudy Gobert in a less defensive-minded system in Minnesota, that he can show the world he’s a Defensive Player of the Year Candidate. Allen will have to contend with his own teammate Evan Mobley for votes, but Allen should be an early favorite (along with Moblye) for the award. Likewise, Love is hoping to once again be in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year, an award that went to Tyler Herro last year.
Both players are also hoping to see a deep playoff run this year as well. A task that isn’t going to be easy by any means. They will have stiff competition from the likes of New Jersey, Miami, Milwaukee, Chicago, and other Eastern Conference teams in order to get to the Eastern Conference Finals or the NBA Finals.
Every team at that level has talent and depth. So what makes everyone so sure that the Cavs can in fact power their way through to a finals appearance? Well, Donovan Mitchell’s arrival helps, but I would contend it’s the chemistry that will be the driving force.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have such great chemistry
So many teams are filled with toxic personalities. Even players I like are toxic. Jimmy Butler has a tendency of rubbing his teammates the wrong way and trying to fight them. Kawhi Leonard plays when he wants to play. LeBron James has no problem throwing everyone under the bus, including the bus driver. Draymond Green will KO a teammate for petty reasons.
This league is toxic.
So it’s refreshing to see some light-hearted affairs with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Seeing Allen playfully teasing Love and his age is a simple, normal thing to do. This isn’t a team of egos, it’s a team of friends.
The chemistry and comradery are there. Sure, we’ll have to see how Mitchell fits long-term, as he has had his dust-ups. How much of it was his fault and how much of it was his former teammate Goberts’ is really up in the air.
But if he can integrate into the roster, this team won’t have an equal on or off the court.
