Harrison Bryant

Looking at Harrison Bryant and giving up on him after three seasons seems like an impossibility in 2020. He had all the potential in the world but he’s not lived up to those lofty expectations. Maybe fans should stop expecting fourth-rounders to be All-Pros, that might be helpful.

Bryant had a solid rookie campaign, and many fans, myself included, thought he could be the starter for the team in the near future. He had the speed, size, and great hands. What we didn’t account for is that he would basically have some of the worst playcalling over the last two years that anyone could have. He was rarely given a chance to showcase his talents.

Then when the team moved on from Austin Hooper, they gave perenially inconsistent David Njoku a king’s ransom, and Bryant went from being used semi-regularly to hardly at all. At least as a pass-catcher.

He is getting targeted more this year than ever before, but he’s also averaging the lowest yards per catch of his career as well. PFF has him at just 54.7 overall for his offense, and that’s about fair.

If he’s retained past this year, which makes the most sense of anyone on this list, he may be able to change that narrative around him, but right now he’s just a guy and nothing more.

That’s not second-contract worthy in my opinion.
