AJ Green

Kareem Hunt may not be the only person going to the USFL or XFL if things keep going this way, as AJ Green may find himself heading there himself. Green made history in Cleveland by becoming the highest-paid undrafted free agent in NFL history. Has he played like it? Well, that depends, what does the highest-paid undrafted free agent in NFL history look like when he’s on the field?

If he looks like Green, then I guess he has both earned and not earned it at the same time. Green has been, for lack of a better term, bad in 2022. He had a really solid year in 2021 as a fourth-corner on the team, often filling in for one of the many, many injured corners the team had but in 2022, with an increased workload from the jump, he’s struggled.

This is made worse by the fact the Browns are waffling on whether or not to bring back Greedy Williams, with some believing he could be on his way out due to the added salary the team is taking on next year.

Green has scored really poorly according to PFF, posting just a 51.6 grade overall, and a 49.2 grade in coverage. He had a 90.3 last year in the same category, so one has to wonder what’s changed. Personally, I think he’s matching up with better talent than last season and you’re seeing the end result.
