The Cleveland Guardians are making noise in camp.

Cleveland Guardians baseball is almost here, and players are starting to showcase their talents early in camp. While the likes of Shane Bieber and the co. are doing their best to get into shape for the upcoming regular season, younger players, those not likely to make the team, are doing everything they can to get noticed before being sent to the minors for their own season.

While the Guards have a few holes to fill, none of them are pretty significant or have very obvious candidates ready to fill them. So we’re not looking deep into the roster this pre-season to see who’s going to make the squad.

Instead, I thought it’d be fun to look at some names who could be fun to watch in the minors this season. So here are three minor leaguers who are making noise so far.

Three Cleveland Guardians minor leaguers who are making noise

Roman Quinn OF

Roman Quinn is the oldest player of the three on this list, at 29 years old, and signed with the Guardians in January on a minor league contract. So far in spring training, he’s hit three home runs, and six RBIs in just five at-bats. He’s got a lot of work to do to try and crack the big league club, but the several-year Major League vet may just do that if he keeps hitting like this.

Micah Pries 1B/OF

The 24-year-old Micah Pries may already be big-club ready had he not gotten drafted in 2020. While he’s a strikeout machine, Pries has shown to have real power in Double-Akron in 2022, and that continues on into spring training. In four at-bats so far, Pries has doubled, tripled, and hit a home run. He clearly doing everything he can to make the big league club.

Jose Tena

At 21 years old, Jose Tena is among the younger players expected to start the season in Triple-A Columbus, and after seeing his game on Monday, we can see why. Tena went 2-2 on the day, showing off pretty good hand speed in the process. Usually a strong hitter across his time in the minors, Tena is someone to watch out for in 2024.
