Caris LeVert has come on strong in March but can the Cleveland Cavaliers rely on him in the playoffs?

Caris LeVert is having a strong March but will it continue into the playoffs?
The Cleveland Cavaliers have needed a strong showing game to game from someone off the bench all year. The Cavs’ bench has struggled in a lot of ways this year. There’s not a lot of passing, not a lot of scoring and the three-point shot has been horrid. The team’s bench defense is stellar though.
Ricky Rubio and Dean Wade have really brought the defensive standard of play up quite a bit. Cedi Osman and Caris LeVert were supposed to handle a lot of the scoring, but both men have been inconsistent this year. Osman will have stretches where he looks good. Osman’s having a good March, shooting 44.1% from three but LeVert is having a better March.
He’s averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, while shooting 49.5% from the floor, 46.7% from three-point, and 73.7% from the free-throw line. He’s having a very good March and has impressed people with his offensive output and his defensive efforts.
But is he having a good stretch of games or has he finally found his fit with the Cavaliers?
Can Caris LeVert keep this up for the Cleveland Cavaliers heading into the playoffs?
The Cavs no doubt need the likes of Rubio, LeVert, and Osman to produce in the playoffs if they’re going to move on past the first round. And a lot of people think LeVert is ready to ascend to the next level of production. A level dubbed “consistent”.
Will LeVert be a consistent contributor in the playoffs now that he’s had a few good games in March? It’s possible, but if you’re trying to correlate that five good games, three of which were against really bad teams, will somehow transfer to the playoffs, don’t.
The most likely outcome for how LeVert will perform in the playoffs is closer to his seasonal performance as a whole, not just five select games. He may have some great playoff games, but he also may stink up the place.
You can’t predict future performances based on seven percent of a season. More than likely the LeVert we’ve seen prior to the last five games is going to be the one who we see in the playoffs. Not this Super Shredder version.
