Joe Mixon got paid a huge chunk of cash, but The Cleveland Browns’ very own Nick Chubb showed the entire world that Mixon isn’t on Chubb’s level.

Joe Mixon might just be the most overrated running back in the NFL. How he’s getting $8-9 million dollars a year for the next four years should be a crime against humanity. Compared that to the far superior Nick Chubb, and you gotta think that Chubb should be worth double what Mixon is getting paid right now, mostly because Chubb is twice as good as Mixon.

Though in reality, $10-12 million would be more than fair for Chubb.

Chubb and Kareem Hunt, both ripped up the Bengals. Considering that Hunt and Mixon both got paid this offseason, one has to wonder when exactly will the Cleveland Browns wait to pay Chubb? The team has the cap room and if what we saw from this offense and defense, it’s clear that guys like Odell Beckham Jr. and Olivier Vernon aren’t long for this team.

So cap space won’t be an issue after the season is over. The Browns would be wise to lock Chubb down now because Chubb is more than able to top his 122 yards that he posted against the Bengals on Thursday night as the season continues.

Chubb had 133 total yards on Thursday, with two touchdowns, averaged 5.6 yards a carry, and had several key blocks for the Browns. Mixon on the other hand had 46 yards, on 16 attempts for 2.9 yards a carry. Mixon, in two games so far this season, has 115 yards rushing. He’s averaging about 3.6 yards a carry. This isn’t just this year, in Mixon’s whole career he’s only really had one very good season. His rookie year he was abysmal, and his third year he barely cracked 4.0 yards per carry.

Chubb has a career average of over 5.0 yards a carry.

Now, Bengals fans will scream “but the offensive line sucks” and to which I say, so did the Browns last year. The Browns replaced both their starting right guard after eight games last season, and then replaced both tackles after the season. Chubb had no issues before or after the talent switch. Chubb could run behind Dave Wohlabaugh and Jim Pyne.

Sometimes great backs are just great regardless of who’s blocking for them.
