The Cavs are in good spirits after starting the season 3-0, and that may have been the reason why Larry Nance Jr. hit fans with his hilarious nickname.

The Cavs are 3-0 for the first time since the LeBron James era. While the teams they’re beating aren’t the top of the league, and everyone is still dealing with a shortened offseason, that doesn’t mean that the team isn’t embracing their hot start. The Cavs are currently fifth in points for and 12th in points against and currently sits fourth in point differential. So they’re riding high, which might be why Larry Nance Jr. decided to dub the backcourt duo of Darius Garland and Collin Sexton something all too funny.

The official Cavaliers Twitter account asked if anyone had any good nicknames for Garland and Sexton, which prompted the junior Nance to chime in with, “I think we’ve all decided that these 2 officially go by Sexland.”

While hilarious, “Sexland” isn’t going to be very family-friendly from a marketing department point of view. That said, it should catch on among the fanbase as an unofficial name. After all, it’s very “meme-centric”.

A nickname isn’t unwarranted. Even though it’s still very young (maybe too young) into the season, both Sexton and Garland are playing well. Sexton has been putting up 27 points per game, with two rebounds and nearly four assists, while shooting 59% from the floor and 67% from three. Again, too young to really give those stats much credence but they’re still impressive for a three-game stretch. Garland is up to 19 points, eight assists, and nearly four rebounds per game so far. Again, maybe too soon, but he’s shooting 55% from the floor and 50% from three.

Their place, alongside Andre Drummond’s absolute dominance and Cedi Osman’s brutal scoring, has made the Cavs one of the most fun teams to watch so far in the NBA at the start of the 2020-2021 season.
