Lauri Markkanen helps lead the way for Cavs victory against the Magic.

The Cavs are back to .500 after a pretty solid outing against the Orlando Magic. The Cavaliers were close to the Magic through the first, not really able to get much of a lead as Orlando played Cleveland very tough. The Cavs were able to keep the pressure on and eventually broke the game open, closing things out 105-92, advancing to 10-10 on the season.

Evan Mobley returned to the court for this game, and while he wasn’t offensively a force, provided much-needed defense for the unit. It would be Lauri Markkanen, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland who stepped up to help power the offense.

Now, onto the Top 3. As always, the bottom is in descending order with the lowest number being the worst and the top is in ascending order with three being the best.

The Top 3 from the streak breaking win against the Magic

The Bottom Three Performers

  1. Ricky Rubio
  2. Cedi Osman
  3. Lamar Stevens

Ricky Rubio looked a bit out of sorts and with how valuable he is, nights like against the Magic have to be kept to a minimum.

He’s still a bit streaky but if this is the new “bottom” for Cedi Osman, then that’s an improvement in his own right, as his bad games in 2020-2021 were horrifying.

Lamar Stevens only got eight minutes and made no impact.

The Top Three Performers

  1. Darius Garland
  2. Jarrett Allen
  3. Lauri Markkanen

The one point goes to Darius Garland who had 26 points and assists but there were significant challengers from last night. Garland’s four turnovers and ineffective shooting hurt him in the game standings.

Jarrett Allen did everything right, with 19 points and 11 rebounds, he gets two points for his impressive play.

The problem with everyone else was that they weren’t the reasons the team pulled away. Markkanen had eight points in the fourth, hitting two of his four three-pointers in the final quarter. Markkanen had a good game, but scoring 40% of his points in the final quarter to help the Cavs pull away is worth the extra point over Allen in my opinion. So Markkanen gets three.

Yearly Standing:

  1. *Tie* Jarrett Allen/Ricky Rubio (22 points)
  2. Darius Garland (19 points)
  3. Cedi Osman(14 points)
  4. *Tie* Lauri/Markkanen/Evan Mobley (12 points)
  5. Kevin Love (9 points)
  6. Dean Wade (3 points)
  7. *TIE* Isaac Okoro/Dylan Windler (1 point)

Next. Jarrett Allen and Cedi Osman battle it out for top spot in the Top 3 following Cavs loss to the Suns. dark
