18. New York Jets
Kelvin Benjamin
WR, Florida State

  • The Jets are hopeful for one of the playmakers selected above to fall to them. Ebron, Evans or Lee would give them a receiver to pair with Geno Smith. Since none of them did they take a high risk/high reward one instead in Benjamin.

19. Miami Dolphins
Zach Martin
OT, Notre Dame

  • The Dolphins replace one Martin with another. The team needs to replace at least 2/5th of last year’s starters on the line to protect their young QB. Martin may end up moving inside in the future but is the best fit at this need right now.

20. Arizona Cardinals
Justin Gilbert
CB, Oklahoma State

  • The Cardinals select Gilbert to put on the other side of Patrick Peterson so they can have more options to rush the passer. The Cardinals defense was high end last year but Gilbert may be the final piece to the puzzle. Adding Derek Carr to backup and learn from Carson Palmer makes alot of sense as well here.

21. Green Bay Packers
Jace Amaro
TE, Texas Tech

  • With injury and contract concerns with Jermichael Finley the Packers replace him with a young pass catching tight end. Amaro could fall in the draft, even to early in the second round, but with TE becoming a bigger deal expect him to be snatched up somewhere in the 20s.

22. Philadelphia Eagles
Dee Ford
OLB, Auburn

  • The Eagles will need to address their defense and Ford’s speed, as shown during Senior Bowl prep, seems right up Chip Kelly’s alley. Ford can play multiple positions and give the Eagles a replacement for Trent Cole.

23. Kansas City Chiefs
O’Dell Beckham
WR, LSU

  • The Chiefs need to find more playmakers. Beckham is a strong player capable of running routes over the middle and hauling in balls in traffic. A perfect compliment to smaller players like Jamaal Charles and Dexter McCluster. His LSU teammate Jarvis Landry is also an option.

24. Cincinnati Bengals
Ha’Ha Clinton Dix
Safety, Alabama

  • Dix could easily go off the board higher but with Calvin Pryor and others at the high end of the draft he might fall as teams fill other needs. Dix would be a stellar addition to an already tough Bengals defense who lack playmaking from their safety position.

25. San Diego Chargers
Ra’Shede Hageman
DT, Minnesota

  • The Chargers could go in a number of directions here but Hageman has been a hard charger and could be drafted even higher when we get to May. Hageman’s power and ability to rush the passer fits the Chargers need to overcome Peyton Manning.
