2005 – Seattle Seahawks – Chris Spencer

Spencer was also drafted a bit higher then expectations, valued as a second rounder, but has played well in spurts at center. He was not resigned by the Seahawks when he became a free agent and went to Chicago where he alternated between center and guard. He last a couple years in Chicago before signing on with the Titans in 2013. Spencer is not an elite player that you expect from a first round pick but also is not the bust that McCargo is. Instead he has made a steady 9 year, so far, career for himself in the NFL. He is an example of why drafts are often judged best after 3 or 4 seasons. He would not get an F but more likely a C- for his time in Seattle. A no impact player like Spencer is a huge problem in this draft for the Browns who are in dire need of impact players to turn the Sadness into Success.
