Champ Bailey – FS – Denver Broncos

Bailey is coming off his first Super Bowl appearance but was cut by the Broncos due to cap space. Bailey has struggled with injuries but is a consummate professional who has a high football IQ. For the Browns and Pettine he could play all over the field, spending most of his time as a free safety. Bailey also fills the leadership role lost with D’Qwell Jackson as well as filling a need on the field. Bailey could chase another Super Bowl but may find his options severely limited especially financially. The Browns could give Bailey a decent sized 2 or 3 year deal, front loading the contract to get Bailey to come help with the rebuild. Bailey’s ability to drop down as a corner in situations helps Pettine’s flexible defense have consistency in leadership on the field.
