16. Dallas Cowboys
Timmy Jernigan
The Cowboys need help up the middle on defense and take one of the remaining DT on the board. Jernigan had a good career at Florida State and should slide right into the starting spot.
17. Baltimore Ravens
Mike Evans
Another AFC North team, another gift. Evans replaces what Boldin did for Joe Flacco, and more. The Ravens will be looking receiver at some point in the draft and can’t pass up the #2 one when he falls to 17. If the Browns don’t take Watkins at #4 and Evans falls expect them to call Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to try to move ahead of the Ravens.
18. New York Jets
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
The Jets almost cry knowing they almost snagged Evans but settle for perhaps the best safety in the draft in Dix. The offense needs an upgrade but Dix’s playmaking could be the final piece to the puzzle on Rex Ryan’s defense.
19. Miami Dolphins
Taylor Lewan
Take the best offensive lineman on the board and slide him in here. Anything besides that would be an utter shock unless the team brings in 2 or 3 during free agency. Lewan is a year late replacing Jake Long but should do the job well.
20. Arizona Cardinals
Derek Carr
A pick that shouldn’t surprise many as draft day arrives. Bruce Arians needs a long term QB and Carr has the big arm to succeed in Arians down the field passing game. Carr gets to sit for a year, or two, then take over for Carson Palmer.
