#106 – Ego Ferguson

The Browns pick up a raw defender they can mold into a starting DE in the 3-4, or can play DT in the 4-3 when needed. Ferguson is highly athletic but needs to develop his skill level and power base in order to become a dynamic force. He is added to the pile on the Browns defensive line for Pettine who loves his defense. Ferguson is a depth pick in preparation for Rubin’s departure next year, or still possibly this year.

#127 – Loucheiz Purifoy

Finally the Browns address their cornerback need with Purifoy. While not a high end corner in the draft Purifoy, standing just under 6′ tall, has the talent to be a solid starter in the league after a couple years. His lack of interceptions and lean physical build cause for concern and allow him to fall a bit in the draft from original projections. The Browns can allow Purifoy to develop, even giving him some time at free safety if they want, while Pettine gets creative with his secondary. The improved front 7, with Dansby and Shazier, will help the secondary tremendously. No surprise if the Browns draft a corner higher then this.
