#127 – Loucheiz Purifoy

The Browns double up with cornerbacks with Purifoy here. Purifoy is a long lean defensive back who could play some free safety for Pettine. Adding two 6 foot tall corners fix a big, pun intended, that the Browns have had in the past few years. Add in Buster Skrine and Leon McFadden the Browns have 5 deep corners that can play solidly in the NFL. Purifoy may never be a shut down guy but his flexibility to play some safety while giving outside help at his height is a perfect fit for this defense.

After adding a number of offensive players, including a QB, WR, TE, and C/G spending another pick on the defense is a good use. The Browns could look for a running back at this point but decide to pass at least for now instead they get an upside player that can also be an impact player on special teams.
