#71 – Gabe Jackson

Again need and talent matchup here for the Browns as one of the best run blocking guards in the draft falls to them at the top of the 3rd. The Browns may not see a huge need on the line but have to address it at some point in time. If QB, CB and WR are the first 3 needs then offensive line, ILB and FS would be the second set.

Jackson has good technique and can learn to be more powerful with his lower body. His fit in the Zone Blocking Scheme could be challenged by his short 20 time but his balance and body control should more then make up for it. He won’t wow anyone, hence a 3rd round pick and not a first, but he could be the Browns starting right or left guard for the next 5 to 10 years and no one would blink an eye. A perfect fit on a line with high drafted players in Joe Thomas, Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz.
