Besides being Mr. Hero’s most well-known pitchman, Brian Hoyer was another local product who gave Browns fans real hope for the first time in a long time during the 2013 campaign.

Tom Brady’s former backup went 3-0 in games he started during the 2013 campaign before an ACL injury cut his season short. Browns fans will forever wonder, what if?

Hoyer returned to the starting job in 2014, and got the Browns off to a 7-6 start, but his play has significantly regressed over the past four games, as he’s thrown for just one touchdown against eight interceptions.

On Dec. 9, it was announced Johnny Manziel would replace Hoyer as the Browns’ starter.

With Manziel waiting in the wings, Hoyer had to play out of his mind, and he was very good in the early going, but it appears the league has finally caught up with the Cleveland St. Ignatius product.
